The understanding of molecular pathways mediating the passage of lipids and calcium from blood into milk is of central interest in the present project.

We attempt to identify transport proteins and regulatory mechanisms which are underlying this process during the pregnancy-lactation stage. The role of ABCA1 and TRPV6, as candidate molecules, will be investigated.
